Boswell Hough, Sr. Obituary (1933 - 2023)

Boswell Hough Sr., affectionately known as "Baba," was born on March 10, 1933 in Union Springs, Alabama to Laura and Taylor Hough Sr. He accepted Christ and was united with New Hope Baptist in Union Springs, Alabama. In November 1956, Boswell "Baba" married Mary S. Davis in Hallandale, FL. Their union was blessed with seven children: James (Dorothy) Sparks and Bobby (Merle) Hough of West Park, FL.; Boswell (Jacqueline) Hough Jr. of Lauderhill, Florida; Darlene Bethea and Linda Hough of West Park, Florida; Cecile (Kenneth) Bryant of Lithonia, Georgia; and Bonnie (James) Toney of Hollywood, Florida. Baba cherished spending time with his loved ones and friends, often enjoyed watching others play card games. He dedicated 30 years of his life as a Journeyman and member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 719 before retiring. On July 3, 2023, Boswell (Baba) Hough Sr. peacefully passed away. He was preceded in death by his parents: Laura and Taylor Hough Sr., his wife Mary S. Davis Hough; and other close family members: Lindburg, James Henry, Eva Williams, Mattie McMillan, Luccilla Fannin, and Larcennie (Tot) Murphy. He leaves to cherish his memory: Sons: James, Boswell Jr. and Bobby; Daughters: Cecile, Linda, Darlene and Bonnie; Brother: Taylor Hough of Montgomery, AL; Sisters: Eva Louise Guinn of Pittsburgh, PA; Lardell Farley and Marion Jean Smith of Birmingham, AL; Wilma Weems of Saginaw, MI and Ann Dallas of Fayetteville, GA; Sisters-in-law: Marie Daive and Jacqueline Browing of Atlanta, GA; 19 grandchildren and a host of great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and wide circle of relatives and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
